Generations of Faith

In 2004 we began an exciting new faith formation program called Generations of Faith.Generations of Faith seeks to prepare all ages and generations for meaningful participation in the life of the Church. Each Faith Festival assists participants in a greater understanding of an upcoming Mass or Liturgical Season. Here families, singles, older adults, etc., come together six times per year at a "Faith Festival" to learn about our faith. We explore six themes over a six year cycle: Church Feasts and Seasons, Sacraments, Creed, Justice, Prayer and Morality. GOF seeks to encourage life-long intergenerational learning for all ages within the parish community. GOF seeks to help families and individuals not only learn about their religion but also develop their faith and a sense of belonging to the parish community.

A typical Faith Festival starts off with a time of gathering, a meal and icebreaker activity. An all-ages prayer and presentation comes next. This may be a skit, PowerPoint presentation, or a video, etc.. After the all-ages presentation, participants break into age-related or family groups to explore more deeply the theme of the festival. The group then comes back together to share what they have learned. When the festival is over, participants receive a homekit filled with information and activities to continue learning at home.

Contact the Parish Offices for more information on GOF.
